Margaret Shillingford introduced the vines that the staff had collected from the grounds at Mt Cuba. Honeysuckle, Bittersweet, Virginia Creeper- these were among the many clingy, twining, vines that we used to weave around willow spokes to create 15 completely unique baskets.

Hands weavingWho ever said basket making was easy? Even though hands got tired of maneuvering the sometimes tenacious vines, everyone forged ahead and the results were astounding! Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming basket making workshops at Mt Cuba Center.
