Introductory Pysanky; The Ukrainian Painted Egg.
Pysanky is the Ukrainian tradition that uses a wax resist method in combination with strong dyes to create stunning easter egg designs. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, “to write”. In this three hour workshop you will learn how to use a heated stylus and bees wax to draw traditional or contemporary designs, and then apply layers of strong colored dyes to your eggs- just in time for Easter celebrations. This class is for teens and adults.
Fee: $30.00
Dyes wax and tools are provided, please bring:
• a pillar candle (one that you don’t care for)
• your own half dozen eggs, white or brown.
